Marion Hellmann is in her early forties and athletic. She loves surfing, mountain biking, volleyball, hiking and jogging. But when she does sports, her knee regularly reports: It hurts. And that is why she has been under treatment for years. After operations on the meniscus and the cruciate ligament, the doctors also diagnosed a so-called arthrosis in her: damage to the cartilage.
